How to Transfer Gadgets to New Version of Vectric

Quick tip on how to transfer your gadgets from your old version to your new version of Vectric software. This works for Cut2D Pro, VCarve Pro, and Aspire.

**Please note: Personal Gadgets are stored in the folder C:\Users\Public\Documents\Vectric Files\Gadgets\Aspire V11.0 (with a different version number on the end for each version). Use this folder location if you cannot find the gadgets that you have added on.

Have you updated your Vectric software but no longer have access to all of your gadgets?
You can see in this version 11,
this is the stock gadgets that Aspire comes with.
And if you look in version 10.5, my previous version, these are all the additional gadgets that I had installed on this Vectric software.
So right now, I'm going to show you a very quick and simple way to transfer all those gadgets to your new version of your Vectric software.
And the same technique will work in Cut2D(Pro), VCarve(Pro), and Aspire.
So the first thing we are going to do is go to your previous version, go to "File", come down to "Open Application Data Folder."
That is going to open up all your folders associated with that version that you just clicked on, so version 10.5.
And in here you can see we have a folder called "Gadgets."
So you want a double click on that.
That will open up that gadget folder and these are all the gadgets that you may have installed on that version.
And now we are going to do the same thing for version 11. So inside of version 11, we are going to go to "File," we are going to go to "Open Application Data Folder."
And then we are going to go to "Gadgets" and in here you can see these are the stock gadgets that the
Vectric software comes with and it's a much smaller list then the previous version.
And now the quick way to transfer these over is in your previous version,
just click inside here and click Ctrl + A on your keyboard. That will select all of the gadgets inside this folder.
And then you want to right click,
click "Copy,"
and then in your new folder, you want to right click in the blank space and click "Paste."
And now there is some folders that are going to have the same name, so you just want to click "Skip These Files."
That will skip any folders with the same name.
And now you can see in your version 11 folder,
all of the previous gadgets that you had in the previous version
are now in this folder. So now we can close these folders down.
And you could see in your new version 11, if you go to "Gadgets," they are still not in here
and that is because you have to first close down and then open a back up.
So we are going to close down version 11,
we are going to open a back up,
and let me move it to the side here,
and now if we go to "Gadgets," you could see we have all the gadgets that we had in version 10.5.
So that is the quick way to transfer your gadgets into your new version.
