Hey everyone, in today's quick tip, we're going to show you some keyboard shortcuts to quickly edit objects and quickly open last used tools. And for this lesson, we're going to be focusing on the create vector tools. So we can see if we go to draw circle and we just create a circle and then click close.
If you want to quickly open that create circle tool again, instead of going back and clicking on that, you can just click the spacebar on your keyboard and that will open that tool up again. And you can see we can draw another circle and then you can either right click to close it or click the close on
the form. And the spacebar keyboard shortcut works for all the first two rows and the last row of create vector tools. It does not work for the text tools, however. But you could see if we draw an ellipse, right click to close.
Click spacebar, that will now open the ellipse tool again and you can draw another one. And then you can right click to close. Same thing with the rest of these tools. We can draw a rectangle. Right click and spacebar, and you can draw another rectangle.
So those are just some quick ways to get back to your last used tool. It's also helpful for the draw line and arc and curved tools. So you could see if we were drawing a curve, I could draw a curve on the screen.
Right click to stop that. Do any other kind of edits you needed to do to something. And then if you wanted to get quickly back to that tool, just click spacebar again and you can go right back into drawing some more curves.
So that is the keyboard shortcut to quickly open your last used create vector tool. Now, the next keyboard shortcut I'm going to show you is how to quickly edit objects that you already have drawn. And you can see, for instance, let's say if this rectangle.
We either wanted to change the size or change how the corners look. And to do that, you can either select the rectangle and go in your drawing tab and look for the create rectangle tool. But instead of looking for the tool in the panel, you can just select the rectangle and click the letter E for edit.
When you click the letter E, it will open up the draw rectangle tool. And then in here, you can either change the location, the corner type or the size within this form. Let's say we did a radius external and let's say we did 0.5 and click apply.
And you can see whatever we change in this form is going to update onto that rectangle that we selected. And then once again, we can right click to exit the tool and you can even select another shape like the circle, click the letter E.
And that will edit this object. And let's say we change the size to five inches. Click apply. And there we go, it updated on the screen. And then click close. So that is the quick keyboard shortcut to edit objects.
But keep in mind, that only works for the first row of closed vectors. The letter E keyboard shortcut will not work for any of the other create vector tools. Alright, so those are just two quick keyboard shortcuts
I figured I'd show you today. Hopefully that helps you speed up your process for creating shapes. And if you found this tip helpful, make sure you like and subscribe for more.
